TrailFfest at Campbell’s

20th September was the first ever TrailFfest with something like 200 people running close to the railway from Blaenau to Port. Unlike the Talyllyn’s ‘Race the Train’ the Ffestiniog carriages seemed to be dawdling to pick up potential stragglers.

The original route through the farm gate by our garden was changed the day before the race, because it was full of sheep. Instead the runners were directed over a stile next to the railway and then down the steep path. On the day of the race the sheep had all been moved up the mountain and five runners took the short cut. Intentionally? or did they miss the signs?
