The Big Thaw & Vole Igloos

Eventually temperatures rose to reveal sites of abandoned igloos, home to families of short tailed voles. Useless without a protective roof of snow. Left behind the neatly stacked latrine. I thought the short lengths of chopped reed were part of their larder but surely they wouldn’t do it on that? It looks more like a way of containing the growing mound of poo to avoid treading in it.
