Snowdonian steaming past Campbell’s

The Snowdonian covered the complete 80 mile round trip, with a return journey over the Welsh Highland to Caernarfon first, followed by the run up to Blaenau Ffestiniog. The train departed from Porthmadog at 0845 and was due back at 1835 ..... it was at about this time that it was on its way downhill past Campbell’s.

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea were included. This consisted of tea/coffee etc., plus Danish pastries on the way to Caernarfon. Then a stop for lunch on the way back at the Goat Inn at Beddgelert for a hot & cold buffet lunch. A cream-filled scone and jam, with tea was served on the late afternoon trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Despite being late everyone seemed very happy and the train looked full. Third class tickets were £160 and I think first class was £300.
